At the start of each new formation year the Diocese of Providence asks Parish Catechetical Leaders to gather for prayer and professional development to support you in your important and necessary role in the Church's mission of catechesis and evangelization. It is our aim and our responsibility that you receive the training and education you need in order to be succesful in the role that has been delegated to you by your pastor who is the primary catechist of the parish. All parish Catechetical Leaders should attend.
The bishop directs catechesis through the diocesan offices responsible for catechetical activities... "The diocesan catechetical office (Officium Catechisticum) is the 'means which the Bishop as head of the community and teacher of doctrine utilizes to direct and moderate all of the catechetical activities of the diocese.'" - National Directory for Catechesis, 59.C
Two opportunities are available. Choose one! There is no cost to attend. This training is intended for parish Directors and Coordinators of Faith Formation responsible for elementary and secondary religious education including sacramental preparation for Holy Communion and Confirmation.
An RCIA Leader Orientation will be offered separately.
We look forward to seeing you!
